About
Hello, my name is Rich Wallace, author of Kingpin-Bowling.com and I’d like to thank you for checking out the site!
I’ve been in and out of the bowling alley since I was about three years old and although I don’t get to roll as much a I’d like, I’ve always held onto the game with an odd kind of passion that keeps me aiming for the pocket.
I was in my first league by the time I hit five years old…it was called, “The Orange Juice League” and sure enough, every week when we gathered on a Saturday morning, we all started out with a glass of orange juice. During the league, one fateful morning, my father handed off his “special” bowling ball to me and I threw a resounding 191 with this shiny new ball. The whole alley was down in our area watching this little kid toss around a sixteen pounder and hit the league high score like it was just another day in the park.
I stuck around the lanes as often as I could and developed my delivery and overall style watching the big guys and studying the pros on television. When I was supposed to be watching cartoons, I was hoping for a televised tournament or two or begging my father to let me go bowl some more. At the peak of my prime, I hit an average of about 210 and was considering going for my pro card, but that dream never became a reality.
After doing the career and family man deal for the past 10 years, I’ve reconnected with the game and although I’ve gone out with friends to the occasional eXtreme Bowling events on the weekends, I’ve joined the ranks of league bowling again and here, I document and share my rekindled passion for the game and hope to make a few new bowling buddies along the way.
Thanks again for visiting and here’s to the Kingpins of the Alleys!
